SUPERVISION: Elders
Principal Function for the Youth Minister:
The Youth Minister & Worship Assistant functions in a dual role as a minister to the youth of Graceview Baptist Church, and assistant to the Worship Pastor at Graceview Baptist Church, previous or current professional experience in both ares of ministry are required for this position. Teaching & guiding the youth group biblically and consistently. While also being available in their lives, attending events when possible, regularly planning activities to engage the youth outside of Wednesday nights, and remaining available to help the youth as needs arise. Also, the Youth Minister will plan, coordinate, and attend youth camps and events.
Regular hours of Youth Ministry Ministry: 30 hours (75 % of role)
- Graceview Baptist Church understands that ministry happens inside and outside of the walls of the church. Therefore, there is an understood flexibility in the scheduling of this ministry.
- With said flexibility understood, this minister & assistant is accountable to the elders to complete the duties of their position faithfully and to meet the required needs of this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Professing believer in the Lord Jesus Christ; baptized by immersion
- Proven call to the ministry
- Experience in Youth Ministry and Worship Ministry required
- Undergrad degree and some seminary training prefered
- Valid Driver’s License
- Embracing doctrine aligned with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
General Responsibilities:
- Faithfully and consistently teach the Scriptures, within the doctrinal framework of the BFM 2000
- Plan, facilitate, and lead Wednesday night youth group activities
- Provide and build strong Christ-like relationships with the youth and their families
- Plan and be available for camps in summer
- Regularly attend Lord’s Day worship services at Graceview Baptist Church
- Keep an open line of communication with the parents & families of the youth
- Maintain an authentic and growing walk with the Lord Jesus Christ, through spiritual disciplines.
General Requirements:
- Undergo pre-employment background check.
- Agree to undergo Ministry Safe Training
- Perform all duties as required
- Have a positive, energetic, encouraging spirit
Skill Sets Preferred for Youth Minister:
- Computer efficient.
- People skills—effective communication with elders, staff, parents, and youth.
- Effective teaching. The ability to handle the Word of God accurately & effectively.
- Principal Function of the Worship Assistant: To assist the Worship Pastor in the execution of Lord’s Day worship, in the spheres of music & technology. To assist the Worship pastor in His oversight of the worship/music ministry team, and the technology of Graceview Baptist Church. Assisting with the achievement of the vision for the worship ministry.

- With said flexibility understood, this minister & assistant is accountable to the elders to complete the duties of their position faithfully and to meet the required needs of this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Same as Youth Minister, with experience in leading and assisting in worship, and experience with church technology required
General Responsibilities of Worship Assistant:
- Assist the Worship pastor in the execution of his vision for worship at Graceview Baptist Church
- Provide assistance with technology, slides, etc.
- Provide assistance and participation in Lord’s Day worship
- Build Christ-centered relationships with Worship Pastor, Worship volunteers, and congregation
Skill Sets Preferred for Worship Assistant:
- Computer proficient
- Familiar with apps used in worship, specifically Planning Center
- Vocal and Musical Skills: ability to assist in worship, assist in choir, and lead worship if necessary
- Technology proficiency (Sound boards, cameras, microphones, etc.)
