Sound Engineer

Work Schedule:                     Required 8 hrs. per week:

Thursdays: 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Sundays 6:30 am-12:30 p.m.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Part-Time Sound Engineer to oversee the audio needs of our weekly worship services and special events. This role is essential to creating a high-quality worship experience through clear, balanced, and reliable sound production. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in live sound, a heart for worship, and a collaborative spirit and adheres to the Bylaws of NGBF.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in live sound mixing for worship services and events.
• Experience with analog and digital sound consoles (e.g., Resi,wing Behringer and Allen and Heath SQ5 & SQ7 preferably).
• Knowledge of signal processing, equalization, and effects, tracks, clicks
• Ability to troubleshoot audio issues
• Familiarity with microphone placement and audio recording techniques.
• Familiarity with both acoustic and electric drums 
• Familiarity with Allen and Heath ME1 and ME500 configuration

Experience & Background

• Formal live sound training or certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional sound engineering experience
• Experience mixing different genres of music, including gospel and contemporary worship.
• Previous experience serving in a church or worship setting is preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with pastors, musicians, and volunteers.
• Leadership skills to train and direct a team of volunteers.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain sound quality across different environments. (in-house and online mixing)
