Holly Brook Baptist Church (HBBC) is seeking a Minister of Music to lead all aspects of our
music ministry. HBBC is a growing church in East Texas just north of Tyler, TX. The Music
Minister will oversee all aspects of our worship ministry, including choir, two praise teams,
worship band, instrumentalist, audio/sound, and media. HBBC has two services each Sunday, a
blended service which includes a choir and praise team, instrumentalists, and utilizes a mix of
hymns and worship songs. The contemporary service includes modern worship songs, a full
praise team and a worship band.
The ideal candidate will also be willing to take on an additional responsibility of either leading
HBBC’s Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) or Discipleship Ministry which must coincide with your
gifting, skills, and calling. Salary is commensurate with the position in other churches of our
size and attendance.
Specific Responsibilities for MUSIC MINISTRY:
- Plan, lead, and oversee all aspects of the church’s music/worship ministry
- Lead congregational worship on Sundays and other special services
- Direct the adult choir, praise team, band, and coordinate special music (seasonal programs, etc.)
- Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers in the worship ministry
- Coordinate with the pastor to plan Christ-exalting worship
- Recruit, train, and oversee all media and volunteers
Specific Responsibilities for SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY:
The Senior Adult Minister is responsible for the spiritual care, fellowship, outreach, and
mobilization of the senior adults (typically age 55 and up) in the church. This individual will
shepherd older adults by encouraging spiritual growth, fostering community, providing support
in times of need, and integrating seniors into the broader mission and life of the church.
- Provide pastoral care, discipleship, and fellowship opportunities for senior adults
- Work in cooperation with our Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) Team to organize monthly
activities (fellowship, eating out, day trips, etc.)
- Make hospital, homebound, and nursing home visits as assigned
- Encourage intergenerational connection within the church body
- Be a loving, caring, listener and advocate for SAM
Specific Responsibilities for DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY:
The Minister of Discipleship will collaborate with the Pastor in leading and developing the
church’s education and spiritual formation ministry, ensuring that every member has a clear path
toward growing in Christ, building relationships, and engaging in mission. This role oversees
ministries related to Life Groups, Sunday School, new member assimilation, men's/women's
discipleship, and leadership training.
- Help develop and comprehensive discipleship pathway from new believer/member to
mature follower of Christ
- Help recruit, train, and support leaders for Life Groups, Sunday school, and other
discipleship ministries
- Help oversee curriculum selection and alignment with sound doctrine and the Baptist
Faith and Message 2000
- Work with other ministry leaders to foster intentional spiritual growth
- Help create and manage a system for new member connection and assimilation
- Collaborate with staff to align discipleship with the overall church mission
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in music from an accredited college; Master’s degree from an
accredited Baptist seminary preferred
- Experience in leading worship
- Three or more years of experience working with church music ministries
- An attested call to the church music ministry
- Must have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
