The Children’s Ministry Director will exercise initiative and creativity in overseeing out ministry to children (Nursey age-6th grade). This person must work well on a team as well as be able to relate effectively to people of all ages. Recognizing that the role of spiritual leaders belongs to parents first, the Children’s Director will work alongside parents to encourage and support the spiritual growth and maturity of their children. We are seeking an individual who will dedicate careful thought and heartfelt enthusiasm to developing, implementing, and directing an effective Children’s Ministry.
Children’s Ministry Director – Duties
- Direct responsibility for the Sunday and Wednesday night programs for children
- Dependable presence on Sunday Morning and Wednesday nights to greet children and parents.
- Communication to parents of children’s activities through mail, email, website, newsletter, etc.
- Recruit, delegate, and train volunteers to fill supporting roles in all activities of the Children’s Ministry.
- Be responsible for the safety of children. Reporting equipment or harmful property damages to the building and Grounds Chairperson.
- Be persistent at worship on Sunday morning.
- Coordinate and provide oversight to leaders for all Children’s Ministry programs and activities- Extended Session, Vacation Bible School, Camps, and Bible Drill.
- Attend Staff Meetings when called by the Lead Pastor.
- Communicate regularly with Lead Pastor and church staff.
- Make sure all volunteers have all volunteers have a criminal and sex offender background check.
