Minister Of Music Job Description

Position Title: Music Minister

Reports To: Lead Pastor

Position Type: Part-Time

Overview:

First Baptist Church Archer City, a Southern Baptist Church, is seeking a part-time Minister Of Music. The Minister Of Music is responsible for leading and coordinating the music ministry of the church, helping to create a worshipful atmosphere that supports the overall mission and vision of the church. This individual will work closely with church leadership to plan and lead music for services and special events.

Responsibilities:

•  Plan, organize, and lead music for all worship services
•  Direct and rehearse with choir, praise team, and/or musicians
•  Select theologically sound and thematically appropriate music for every worship service
•  Coordinate special music for holidays, events, and programs
•  Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers within the music ministry
•  Maintain and organize music materials, equipment, and resources ? Collaborate with the Lead Pastor and staff for service planning

Schedule Requirements:

•  Sunday mornings (worship service and rehearsal as needed)
•  Sunday evenings (services or activities as scheduled)
•  Wednesday evenings (rehearsals and/or services)
•  Additional time as needed for special events (e.g., Christmas, Easter, revivals, etc.)

Qualifications:

•  Strong musical ability (vocal and/or instrumental)
•  Experience leading worship in a church setting preferred
•  Ability to direct and work well with volunteers of varying skill levels ? Strong organizational and communication skills
•  A personal commitment to the church’s beliefs and mission

Expectations:

•  Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and spiritually mature leadership    
   Foster a positive, encouraging, and worship-focused environment ? Be punctual and prepared for all rehearsals and services
