JOB TITLE: CHILDREN AND FAMILIES MINISTER

DESCRIPTION: The part-time Children and Families Minister will be responsible for leading children's ministries (birth - 5th grade) and volunteers while equipping the parents of children to be the primary disciple-makers.

QUALITIES:

  • A mature believer who has a fruit-bearing relationship with Jesus and a call to ministry with a desire to please God.
  • Models a servant’s heart that demonstrates love and passion for people, especially children and families.
  • Experience in serving and working with children and excited about equipping parents for family discipleship.
  • A leader who is organized and relational, wise and teachable, who is creative and enthusiastic.
  • Committed to the sufficiency of Scripture and affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
  • A willingness to be discipled and grow as a disciple-maker.
  • Bachelor’s degree desired but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work at least 20 hours a week, which includes weekly staff meetings, Sunday and Wednesday activities, and monthly outreach events.
  • Provide leadership, direction, recruiting, training, and oversight for all children’s ministry (birth - 5th grade) teaching, events, budgets, volunteers, and safety that facilitate the fulfillment of the vision, mission, and values of FBC Murphy.
  • Help develop and enhance a strategic milestone ministry that will equip parents to disciple their children through life stages.
  • Collaboratively work with all staff and volunteers to accomplish the overall mission of FBC Murphy.
  • Equip parents with creative strategies that help engage children during Sunday worship with the family that facilitates continued faith conversations at home, building upon the experiences in corporate worship and Life Groups.
  • Demonstrate a servant attitude and willingness to take initiative and assume any other responsibilities assigned by the pastor.

SALARY: Based upon experience.
