About Our Church
Friendship Baptist Church is a small, rural Southern Baptist Congregation located in Anderson County, Texas. We are a loving church family with a genuine love for one another and with a deep commitment to God’s Word, the Great Commission, and the Great Commandment. Our mission is to glorify God by making disciples who make disciples – beginning in our local community and reaching to the ends of the earth. Friendship averages around 230 in attendance in Sunday Service. We have a thriving Youth and Children’s program and we have an extremely active congregation and leadership with a heart for service and the Lord. We are prayerfully seeking a pastor who is passionate about biblical preaching, relational discipleship, missions, and who will lead us in growing as faithful followers of Jesus Christ.
The pastor will serve as the spiritual leader of our church, helping us grow in our love for Christ and our mission to reach others. He will lead by example and direction.
We are seeking a man who:
. Is called and qualified according to 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
. Affirms the Baptist Faith and Message (2000)
. Demonstrates a personal passion for discipleship and missions
. Has a heart for shepherding and developing leaders within the church
. Is licensed and preferably ordained by a Southern Baptist church
. Has the ability to connect with and minister to a rural, multigenerational congregation
. Ministry or pastoral experience is preferred but not required
