Minister of Music/Worship

Minister of Music and Worship Job Description:                                                                       

The position of Minister of Worship is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing a vision for leading and engaging people of all ages in worship.

• Models standards and expectations of leaders within Hillcrest Baptist Church                                                

Responsibilities/Duties:

1. Must be proficient in sound and other worship related technical, audio and visual services.
2. Oversee the entire music ministry of the church. (including funerals and weddings)                      
3. Able to lead a mixed service comprised of traditional, contemporary, and praise and worship music
4. Coordinate with the Pastor and prayerfully select congregational music, including any special emphasis such as drama, soloists, choirs, children, youth, and musicians for congregational worship services
5. Organize, maintain and update the music library
6. Schedule and direct weekly and special rehearsals
7. Select music and direct special groups and solos
8. Provide training for choirs and musical groups
9. Recruit new members for the music ministry
10. Maintain musical instruments, AV equipment and arrange for tuning and upkeep
11. Oversee church pianist and youth and children’s choir directors
12. Coordinate with and assist the Media Coordinator
13. Plan and direct Christmas, Easter and/or other seasonal programs
14. Recruit, train and oversee sound technicians, scheduling them to serve on a rotating basis
15. Oversee budget and expenditures for the church music ministry
