POSITION TITLE:  Ministry Administrator 

POSITION TYPE: Support Staff

POSITION STATUS: Part-Time 

SUPERVISION: Lead Pastor

 

Principal Function:  The Ministry Administrator is responsible to serve as the first contact for all people entering and/or contacting the church; therefore, this person is to greet church guests (in person or via phone) in a Christ-like and professional manner and connect them to the appropriate support staff/minister.  The Ministry Administrator will also assist as needed in general and basic clerical tasks. The Ministry Administrator is to fulfill the Great Commission and the Great Commandment through the mission of the local church.

Regular Office Hours:

Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Professing believer in Jesus Christ; baptized by immersion.
  2. High School diploma with, preferably, some college 
  3. Valid Driver’s License
  4. Professing a doctrine aligned with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message statement as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention on June 14, 2000.

General Responsibilities at HBC:

  • Church Media and Marketing Oversight
    • Edit audio and video of church services for Facebook, YouTube, and Podcast outlets on a weekly basis.
    • Manage church social media pages with updates, announcements, and future events.
    • Manage church website with updates, ministry announcements, and future events.
    • Design and create compelling graphics for church marketing materials such as church bulletins, banners, signs, t-shirts.
    • Design and create announcement graphics for service slides.
  • Church Member Management
    • Manage church database including attendance, member information, visitor assimilation, mass emails, and assignment tracking.
    • Member Care (transfer letters, membership covenants, info pages)
  • Church Staff Coordination
    • Manage the church calendar of events.
  • Administrative Responsibilities:
    • Act as the primary phone operator and direct calls to the appropriate staff personnel
    • Food pantry distribution
    • Keep office organized
    • Assist pastoral staff on an as-needed basis
    • Oversee church office supplies and maintain office and copier supplies
  • Volunteer Management: Recruit and oversee office volunteers to help with day-to-day office tasks.

General Requirements:

  1. It will be required, as a condition of employment, to undergo a pre-employment background check as well as a nationwide credit check report.
  2. It will be required, as a condition of employment, to agree to and sign the HBC Moral Integrity document.
  3. Perform additional duties as required.
  4. Have a positive, energetic, encouraging spirit.

Skill Sets preferred:

  1. People Skills – Effective communication with staff, members, guests.
  2. Computer proficient (i.e. Word, Excel, Email (Outlook), Adobe Creative Studio, and Microsoft programs.
  3. Technology proficiency.
  4. Printers/Copiers, calculators, laminators, fax machines proficiency
  5. Organizational, administrative, creative, multi-tasking, and adaptability skills.
