Job Title: Worship and Discipleship Minister

Reports to: Senior Pastor

Job Summary:

The Worship and Discipleship Minister is responsible for overseeing and leading the worship and discipleship ministries of First Baptist Church in Breckenridge, Texas. The Worship and Discipleship Minister must be a strong musician and vocalist who is passionate about leading others in worship and spiritual growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead Worship Services:

• Plan and coordinate all aspects of worship services including song selection, scriptural readings, prayers, and any other elements of worship.
• Lead the congregation in music and other forms of worship.
• Work with the Senior Pastor to ensure that the worship service aligns with the overall vision and mission of the church.

2. Oversee Worship Ministry:

• Recruit, train, and equip musicians and vocalists for worship services.
• Coordinate and lead rehearsals for the worship team.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall quality of the worship ministry. 

3. Oversee Discipleship Ministries:

• Lead the implementation of a church-wide discipleship strategy.
• Be a resource and advisor to the leadership of the church’s many adult discipleship ministries including Sunday School, Home Groups, Men’s and Women’s Ministries, and Adult Bible Studies.

4. Administration:

• Manage the worship and discipleship ministry budgets and expenditures.
• Provide oversight and coordination of all technical aspects of the worship ministry, including sound and lighting systems. This includes utilizing software and technology such as ProPresenter, Facebook live and working with local radio stations for broadcasting worship services and special events. 
• Maintain a schedule of events utilizing Planning Center or alternative scheduling software and communicate effectively with the Senior Pastor and other ministry leaders. 

Qualifications:

• A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a passion for ministry and the local church.
• A Bachelor's degree in music, worship ministry, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience in leading worship in a church setting.
• Strong musical and vocal skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with ministry teams and volunteers.
• A heart for mentoring and developing musicians and vocalists.
• A working knowledge of audio/visual technology as it relates to worship services.

First Baptist Breckenridge is a church that loves Jesus as we strive to preach and teach His gospel. We want our congregation to know Jesus and His teachings and to proclaim Jesus boldly in and outside our community. We currently average approximately 120-150 in Sunday school and corporate worship service and have guests regularly. Like many churches, we have not recovered from Covid and the harvest is ripe in our community to bring believers and non-believers into Christ’s church.
