Worship Leader – “Classic/Traditional” Style

At Calvary Baptist Church (CBC), we are committed to reaching people for Jesus. We describe ourselves as “One Family – Many Places”. We have multiple campuses with multiple worship styles within Bastrop County Texas. Currently we are searching for a Classic Worship Leader for our Bastrop campus.

The Classic Worship Leader is responsible for leading the worship in the Classic Worship Service, selecting appropriate music for the service and leading the choir. To CBC, “Classic” style means an energetic vibrant choir-led worship service that worships God using traditional hymns and choruses. This is a paid position and reports directly to the Pastor.

Responsibilities 

• Create a God focused spirit and atmosphere of worship in our Classic Service (Sundays 9:00am – 10:00am).
• Work with the Senior Pastor to plan the songs, flow, and other elements in the Classic Service
• Encourage and care for the choir and musicians to lead the Classic Service
• Recruit and train new choir members and vocalists to help lead the Classic Service
• Keep music, set lists, and schedules of the team organized
• Work with the sound and media team to create the desired atmosphere in the service
• In consultation with the Modern Worship Leader formulate a budget music ministry and recommend it to the Management Team

Signs Of Success

• The focus is on God and not a particular worship leader
• An increasing number of people are involved in leading worship
• The congregation is actively singing and participating in worship each week
• The worship ministry is organized
• Worship team expresses joy in leading the body in praise

Typical Weekly Work Hours:

• Sunday Service – 2 hours
• Practice – 2 hours
• Prep Work – 6 hours
• Total Hours = 8-10 hours
