Education / Work Experience Requirements
|
Bachelor's Degree in Theology, Ministry, or related field - preferred*
|
Responsibilities
|
Youth Program Management and Development
|
Plan, organize, and lead weekly Bible studies (Sunday school, youth group meetings), youth retreats, mission trips, service projects, and other special events.
|
Encourage youth participation in church-wide events and activities
|
Mentorship and Discipleship
|
Provide spiritual guidance and mentorship to youth, helping them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ
|
Build strong relationships with youth, offering support and counseling as needed
|
Work with volunteer leaders to assist with youth programs - identify and train
|
Ministerial Care
|
Offer pastoral care and counseling to youth, as well as their families, as needed
|
Be available for spiritual guidance and support to youth outside of regular meeting times
|
Work with church pastoral staff to address the spiritual needs of the youth
|
Community and Parent Engagement
|
Communicate regularly with parents on youth activities and to address any concerns
|
Encourage parent involvement in youth ministry activities
|
Build and foster relationships with local school personnel in order to reach out beyond the church
|
Willing to work outside the walls of the church - sporting and community events, other - outside normal hours
|
(regular time in school, community, and other venues where youth are active)
|
Administration and Coordination
|
Manage youth ministry budget and attendance
|
Collaborate with church staff and leadership to integrate the youth ministry into the overall church mission
|
Manage and maintain and active, appropriate, and visible presence on social media representing youth ministry
|
Qualifications
|
Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to the teachings of the Bible
|
Previous experience working with youth in a ministerial setting
|
Passion for reaching today's youth and growing their faith, as well as youth ministry program
|
Strong leadership and communication skills
|
Organizational skills
|
Ability to relate to and inspire young people
|
Current youth culture knowledge and awareness of challenges facing young people today
|
