Minister of Worship & Communication (IT, Social Platforms)
At FBC Grapeland, it is our desire to love Jesus while leading all people to a life-changing relationship with Him. We do this by seeking to glorify God in everything we do, by being rooted & growing in God's Word, by cultivating a healthy community, by engaging in authentic, Christ-centered worship, by partnering with & equipping people for ministry, & by boldly sharing the gospel. Our Minister of Worship & Communication will have the same belief & desires while developing a Worship Ministry Team which includes vocalists/choir, instrumentalists, & technical staff of all ages.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but not limited to):
· Be able to create & implement a strategy to lead biblical based worship that will prepare & engage worshippers to respond to God’s Word.
· Plan, rehearse, & lead in Sunday morning worship venues and other events i.e. funerals, community services, Man Church, etc.
· Lead the Worship Ministry Team to prepare & lead out in worship.
· Develop the musical skills of the Worship Ministry Team.
· Disciple & shepherd the Worship Ministry Team to seek a stronger, daily relationship with Jesus Christ that will create a Spirit filled worship, both personally & corporately.
· Recruit, train, & lead all technical teams to perform their functions with excellence (sound, projection, lighting, stage design).
· Oversee all worship venues, all ages, including the growth & development of all choirs & praise teams.
· Develop, update, & oversee all FBC Grapeland Communication needs, including the church Facebook page, the church website, & ministry programming.
· Lead the church to develop & fully utilize future IT opportunities for the growth & outreach of all FBC Grapeland ministries.
· Relate with the Pastor both personally & professionally.
Personally—Meet with the pastor regularly for personal discipleship & mentorship; work to develop a relational bond beyond the office & seek to serve as a team rather than individuals.
Professionally—Be responsible for: reporting/accountability to the pastor; annually creating a budget for music/worship needs; annual planning & performance review with the pastor & Personnel Committee chairman.
STRONG CANDIDATE TRAITS (include but not limited to):
• Have a testimony of salvation by faith alone in Jesus Christ & baptism by immersion.
• Be spiritually, relationally & emotionally healthy.
• Be a genuine worshipper in private as well as publicly.
• Possess a calling to lead others in worship.
• Lead according to the Holy Spirit versus an agenda (personal).
• Ability to read music & lead vocally is a must. Possessing the ability to play the piano, guitar or other instrument to assist in leading congregational worship is a plus.
• Recruit, nurture & grow worship teams (all vocals, all choirs, & instrumentalists) to engage each other & the congregation into a Spirit-led time of worship.
• Have the humble heart of a worshipper, willing to work with others, desirous of working alongside the Pastoral staff to assist in the spiritual growth & mission of the body of believers both inside the Grapeland community & beyond. Embrace the opportunity God has placed before FBC Grapeland.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in music, theology or ministry preferred
· Proficient with current technology, including an online presence
· 5+ years’ experience preferred
· Able to pass both a credit check & a background check
SALARY & BENEFITS
· Package—$75,000 (includes 3 BR 2 Bath parsonage)
· Scholarship funds available for Continuing Education
