The Minister of Students is responsible to the Pastor for leading the students, their families, and the church as a whole to help our young people become life-long disciples of Jesus.  All efforts and activities developed or implemented by the Minister of Students shall be consistent with the mission and vision of the First Baptist Church.

•  Responsibilities: 
• Work with church leaders, parents, and other church members to cast a clear and compelling vision for student ministry at FBC Bay City.
• Organize and coordinate a balanced approach to student ministry based on the vision that includes Bible study, discipleship, outreach, recreation, fellowship, and mission activities.  Implement student ministry activities with defined purposes, which support the overall vision. 
• Enlist and train adult leaders for the student ministry of the church.
• Develop ongoing relationships with the students, their parents, and adult leaders to promote discipleship of students at home and in one-on-one and small group settings. 
• Provide direction and leadership for the youth education program of the church by coordinating and promoting Sunday School, Discipleship Training, and other activities.  Develop a long-term plan (6 months to a year) and curriculum that supports the overall vision to address the spiritual needs of the students.
• Plan and coordinate all student activities such as camps, mission trips, retreats, Bible studies, and other special events.
• Work with parents and other adult leaders to plan, implement, and evaluate a student ministry program that integrates students into church life as a whole.    
• Work with parents and adult leaders to prepare our students to continue as disciples of Jesus as they transition from student ministry to the next phase of church life.
• Participate and assist in church-wide events in support of the overall vision of the church.
• Prepare and administer the student ministry budget.
• Accept other duties as assigned.
