JOB DESCRIPTION:                     Minister to Students

Function:  Responsible to the pastor and to the church for the development and implementation of a comprehensive program of Christian development and activities for students. This position shall report to the Generations Pastor.

Responsibilities:

  1. Development of a comprehensive student ministry plan. The student ministry is defined as 7th through 12th grade.  This plan should address all aspects of the student ministry including worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism/missions.
  1. Provide the leadership to encourage participation by all students in the ministry opportunities of the church.
  1. Develop ministries to parents of students for the purpose of communication, discipleship, and support.
  1. Lead the recruitment, training and allocation of adult leadership for the creation of an effective ministry in the church and to our community.
  1. Develop ministries, bridge events, and discipleship connections between preteens, middle school students, and high school students.
  1. Plan, conduct, and evaluate a ministry of outreach by student leaders and their adult leaders.
  1. Work with church staff and other leaders to insure that all program/activities complement the overall vision and direction of the church.
  1. Plan, coordinate, conduct, and evaluate special events such as camps, retreats, recognitions, fellowships, etc.
  1. Conduct special training opportunities for workers in above ministry areas in proper relationship with other ministry areas of the church.
  1. Develop and make budget recommendations for viable ministries.

 

  1. Keep informed of trends in ministry areas through personal study and conferences and seek to enrich all facets of ministry both personally and collectively.
