Who You Are

The Senior Pastor that God has chosen for FBC Timpson will be a man that exemplifies Jesus through servant leadership. He will have a love for people, a love for God, and a passion for making disciples. His delight will be in serving the Lord through personal spiritual growth (2 Timothy 3:16-17), developing new leaders by discipleship (Acts 6:3), inspiring others to serve by example (1 Corinthians 4:16), and being obedient to make new disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). This man must fulfill the qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. Our pastor will be a man that is capable of sound exegesis of God’s inerrant Word as given in the Holy Scriptures, will avoid eisegesis, and has a sound theological ideology. We believe without a doubt that God has already chosen the man that will lead our church as we “go therefore and make disciples”.

Who We Are

FBC Timpson is focused on loving God and loving people. The church provides both spiritual and physical leadership for the Timpson and the surrounding community. We support local, state, and international missions through the SBTC and directly. We seek to continually revitalize our congregation and develop our new converts through discipleship programs. FBC desires to continue to be a beacon of hope for all those who love Jesus and seek to do His will.

The pastor will be able to relate to all people. We affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

Pastor Requirements

1. Be qualified as an overseer per 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9
2. Be ordained, or in the ordination process with your home church, as a Baptist minister
3. While we prefer a MDiv or some time in an accredited Southern Baptist Seminary, we will accept all applications
4. Possess strong leadership, communication, and administrative skills
5. Work with the deacon body and staff to administer and lead FBC Timpson
6. Seek out, develop, and grow leaders within our church
7. Preach one Sunday sermon per week and lead Wednesday adult Bible study
8. Conduct Funerary, Wedding, and Baby Dedication services as needed
9. Visit the infirm and sick as needed
10. Meet with all prospective new members of our church
11. Any other duties which may be needed
