Worship and Media Minister

MINISTER OF WORSHIP AND MEDIA

Position Summary: 

First Baptist Church Rowlett is seeking a Worship Pastor with a deep love for Christ, strong musical gifting, and a heart for leading people in authentic, Spirit-led worship. This pastor will oversee and develop all aspects of the worship, music, worship arts, and media ministries, helping our church glorify God through meaningful and excellent expressions of worship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and oversight to the Worship Arts Ministry, ensuring the highest quality possible of worship takes place each worship service. Including selection of music, song sets, AVL, training, rehearsals, mentorship and pastoral care of the Worship Arts Team. As well as making sure the pulpit is filled with a worship leader on Sundays you are unable to lead
• Lead engaging, Christ-centered worship services as a primary vocalist and musician
• Recruit, train, and disciple volunteer and paid musicians, vocalists, and media team members, designing creative and effective training programs that foster both musical growth and spiritual maturity
• Plan and coordinate worship services in collaboration with the Senior Pastor
• Oversee the creative and technical elements of worship: including music selection, transitions, visuals, and livestream/audio production
• Manage scheduling, rehearsals, and overall worship preparation for teams and services
• Provide leadership in long-term vision and development for worship and creative arts at FBC Rowlett
• Oversee budgets, equipment maintenance, and technology relevant to worship and media ministry
• Establish appropriate performance standards and hold all Worship Team members to these standards
• Effectively communicate with worship team, musicians, AVL, and all worship arts volunteers
• Develop a church-wide communication and promotion strategy which utilizes all available methods such as social media, printed materials, video, etc.
• Provide supervision for assigned ministry teams. Ensure that the responsibilities and purposes of each assigned ministry team and its members are clearly defined
• Perform all duties assigned by the Senior Pastor

Qualifications:

• Must be a believer in Jesus Christ
• Must be authentic, above reproach, and willing to be held accountable
• Must be a gifted vocalist and skilled musician (guitar or keyboard preferred) capable of leading the congregation with excellence and authenticity
• Must be highly ethical and able to process highly sensitive information
• Must be doctrinally and biblically conservative
• Must have 3-5 years of experience leading worship
• Must be proficient in Planning Center (or an equivalent) to provide MP3’s, Chord Charts, and Lead Charts
• Must be a mature believer with a love for God’s Word, evangelism, and discipling believers
• Must have a strong knowledge of the rudiments of worship and music as well as the techniques
• Must possess strong speaking skills and the ability to speak confidently before groups
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be action and goal oriented
• Must be an excellent team builder, recruiting and developing a highly responsive team of paid and volunteer members
• Must understand relevant software: Microsoft Office, church database software, worship planning software, etc.
