Job Title: Nursery Staff

Reports to: Associate Pastor for Kids

Compensation: $12–18/hour depending on experience and qualifications

JOB SUMMARY

The nursery staff provides consistent, high-quality childcare for infants and toddlers during regularly scheduled church services and special events. They are responsible for maintaining clean spaces and providing care consistent with the church’s mission to lead people to know and follow Jesus.

Applicants will be asked to undergo a rigorous background check process and Ministry Safe Training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for providing age-appropriate care which includes: feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, putting children down for naps, holding or sitting with, and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, play and prayer.
• Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, and volunteers.
• Arrive on time for all scheduled duties. 
• Stay in nursery until all children are secured with parents or guardians.
• Straighten the room and clean any toys/beds before leaving each week.
• Report to the associate pastor for kids any issues which are hindering completion of duties or responsibilities.
• Communicate in advance, by phone to the associate pastor for kids or ministry assistant: 1) any planned absences with an advance two-week notice or 2) any unplanned absences at least two hours prior to the shift.

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 18 years of age
• A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Personal buy in to the vision and direction of CBC
• Preference given to applicants with experience and training in early childhood education and/or licensed Texas childcare facilities

SCHEDULE AND HOURS

Part-time position; Sunday mornings (8:00 AM — approx. 12:15 PM; Wednesday 5:30 PM — 8:00 PM); other hours as needed and/or as available.
