Minister to Young Adults FT_X_ PT ___ # of Weekly Hours ___
Employee Classification: Ministerial Staff (FLSA Exempt)
REPORTS TO: Minister of Education
SUMMARY: Plan and lead the church in its ministry with young adults (age 18-30), including relevant biblical ministries which foster a sense of genuine Christian community, make disciples that consistently follow Jesus, and incorporate evangelism/outreach beyond the church walls.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: An undergraduate degree in Christian education, religion, or biblical studies is preferred. At least three years effective experience in local church ministry required.
Expertise in the following areas is recommended: developing ministry plans which are applicable to settings which are unique to young adults; strong communication skills which relate to both married and unmarried young adults; knowledge and skill in social media as a communication medium and platform for ministry; volunteer mobilization (discovery, enlistment, training, motivation); collaboration and communication within a large staff team; willingness to continue growing in knowledge and practice of young adult ministry in local church settings.
•Develop and maintain a missional strategy for identifying, reaching, and spirituallydeveloping young adults.
•Enlist and develop a volunteer leadership team that assists with planning, conducting, andevaluating young adult ministry activities.
•Mobilize the church’s young adults to pursue, support, and live out the church’s missionstatement.
•Strengthen and expand the young adult Sunday School and small group network. Be thelead volunteer developer for these ministries.
•Lead young adults to be active in service across all ministry areas of the church.
•Maintain and expand the church’s young adult social media presence.
•Maintain an ongoing posture of personal and professional development, especially as itrelates to effective young adult ministry.
All other duties assigned by Minister of Education.
