Associate Director of Children and Preschool

About the position:
The Associate Director is a part-time position and will lead, plan, execute, and oversee the ministry to children from Birth through 6th grade. This person will partner with parents to help lay a spiritual foundation for all children. This person will also lead a team of paid staff and volunteers to execute each part of the Children’s Ministry. This person will oversee Sunday morning children's groups, children’s church, Wednesday night Adventure Club (or the program decided on by the Pastor), Vacation Bible School, Child Dedications and all other children’s activities.
This person should be a committed Follower of Christ and exemplify Christ-like character with the ability to teach, model, and oversee ministry to parents, leaders, and children. This person must adhere to a high standard of moral conduct and support and model the Mission and Values of Nassau Bay Baptist Church and be in agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
The Associate Director’s Responsibilities Include:
- As a member of the Ministerial Staff, this person will be asked to attend weekly meetings to help with the execution of strategy and communication with the staff. You will be asked to give ideas and feedback regarding church initiatives and communicate all things with your team.
- Oversee the weekly Sunday school groups and worship activities for children and preschoolers.
- Recruit workers and volunteers to serve in all areas of Children and Preschool Ministries.
- Coordinate regular planning, training, and equipping opportunities for volunteers and ensuring they have completed the Ministry Safe training before working with children.
- Prepare and maintain an annual budget for Children and Preschool.
- Plan and implement a summer activity schedule including Vacation Bible School and Preteen Camp.
- Maintain the safety and security of all ministry areas involving children.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Pastor.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3 years of applicable experience, a background in Early Education is a plus
- Experience in recruiting and equipping teams and volunteers for the ministry
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- An understanding of technology
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
- Track record of administrative and organizational efficiency
- Ability to organize and coordinate work, set priorities, delegate, build consensus, and meet deadlines
- Ability to provide for the equipping of leaders through various means
- Ability to maintain order and resolve behavioral issues in a Christ-like manner
- Student of children’s culture and current with all children’s trends and resources
- Gifted teacher and communicator of God’s Word to children, parents, and leaders
Personal Characteristics & Qualifications
- Passionate calling to Children’s Ministry and a heart to see children come to Christ
- Promotes a “team” mentality and genuine care of fellow staff members
- Relational approach to Children’s Ministry and a desire to work with other ministry areas within the church
- Detail-oriented
- Must be in agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
