Senior Pastor – Calvary Baptist Church (Dumas, TX)
Calvary Baptist Church of Dumas, TX, is seeking a passionate and committed Pastor to serve as a part-time or bi-vocational leader, teacher, and preacher—a co-laborer in ministry with our local body of believers. We are looking for someone who will uphold and proclaim the Bible as the inerrant Word of God, teaching with clarity, conviction, and authority, and who adheres to the qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced soul-winner who is eager to inspire and equip our congregation to live out biblical principles in their personal witness. As a conservative Baptist church aligned with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message, we are committed to sound doctrine and Biblical truth.
Key Responsibilities:
Preaching & Teaching: Plan and lead worship services in collaboration with volunteers from the congregation, delivering clear, Biblical messages.
Pastoral Care: Provide pastoral care by visiting members in hospitals, nursing homes, and homes, with support from the deacons.
Leadership & Administration: Oversee and lead the church staff, ensuring smooth administrative operations. Serve as the primary leader and administrator of paid staff. Offer support and encouragement to teachers and program volunteers.
Evangelism & Discipleship: Lead outreach and evangelism efforts and help guide new members into the life of the church.
Ceremonies & Counseling: Officiate weddings, funerals, and other church ceremonies. Provide Biblical counseling to members and prospective members as needed.
Sacraments: Lead the church in the observance of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Denominational Representation: Represent the church in associational, state, and denominational matters.
Qualifications:
Strong Biblical preaching and teaching skills
Passionate about evangelism and disciple-making with a heart for both local and international missions.

About Calvary Baptist Church, Dumas:
Calvary Baptist Church has a rich history of over 70 years as a vibrant body of Christian believers in Dumas. Originally founded as a church plant, the church now resides at a prominent location across from a swimming pool and park.
We host a Haitian-language church plant on our second floor who have parallel services on Sunday mornings in Haitian Creole.
Our ministries right now are limited to just adult Sunday schools but we have in the recent past offered Sunday and Wednesday night bus routes for children and VBS. We have a wonderful children's wing. Our service music style is mostly traditional with a few newer songs (everything is relative) peppered into our service.
We support both local and international missions and remain a mission-minded church.
