Youth Minister

East Side Baptist is currently taking applications for a part-time Youth minister. 

Principal Function: The Student Minister serves as a colleague in ministry, working toward the building up of the life and ministry of the youth group.  The Student Minister is accountable to the pastor and needs to clearly communicate with him.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop, implement, and administer the church's ministry with senior high and middle school students, including planning and leading fellowships, events, and activities.
• Provide group leadership training and skill development, which results in active participation by youth leaders in the formulation and conduct of this ministry.
• Conduct meetings, when necessary, with youth leaders and adult advisors.
• Be available to students for counseling and general discussion through the maintenance of regular office hours and by special appointment.
• Be very active and involved in the local schools.  Administration, teachers, and students should know you.
• Seek to be acquainted with the families of students.
• Plan and carry out the following activities:
  • Youth retreats and conferences, when appropriate
  • Disciple Now or other church-sponsored retreat, collaborating with other churches and their families
  • Summer Camps
  • Mission/works projects.
• Have a well-balanced student ministry. Every student should be focused on reaching, connecting, serving, and growing while honoring God.
• Provide a weekly Wednesday night activity (summer will be different)
• Integrate the student ministry in the church, e.g., provide a student-led Sunday service
• Plan and lead a few activities for elementary school-age students.

General:

• Attend weekly staff meetings.
• perform other duties as assigned by the pastor
• maintain and keep current files of all programs, activities, and events that have been developed as part of this ministry.
