Our Sunday worship gatherings average around 200 attendees, reflecting strong community ties and fellowship. Our active Children's Ministry ministers to approximately 70 children weekly, highlighting our commitment to developing faith from an early age. The Student Ministry engages around 20 students weekly, offering significant room for spiritual and numerical growth. Our midweek services consistently draw 160 participants of all ages, underscoring our dedication to continuous discipleship and community connection beyond Sundays.
While our facilities are aging, they currently meet student ministry needs and offer ample room for future expansion and enhancement. The student ministry has good space.
Our theological stance is firmly rooted in conservative biblical teachings. At Cana Church, we prioritize personal and communal transformation through a gospel-centered approach, marked by redemptive interactions and transformative discipleship. Leadership at Cana is intentional, strategic, and collaborative, demonstrated by structured annual planning (our annual "900 Meeting"), semester-based goal setting, continued education planning, so as to ensure alignment with our vision and mission. Position Overview
We seek a passionate Student Minister. We have room to elevate the role to Family Minister per skill and desire from the candidate. The Student Minister is primarily responsible for leading our Student Ministry, and will also actively participate in broader family discipleship and church administration. This full-time role offers collaboration, leadership development opportunities, and significant potential to impact the church community.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate for the Student Minister position at Cana Church will be someone deeply committed to Christ, with a clear and passionate calling to student ministry first, and the ability to empower lay people to accomplish the broader family ministry. This individual should exemplify strong biblical understanding, demonstrate humility, and have a vibrant spiritual life characterized by integrity and consistent spiritual growth. The candidate will bring proven leadership experience, excellent organizational skills, and a collaborative approach to ministry. He should have a heart for discipleship, an ability to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and the wider congregation, and possess a creative vision for enhancing and expanding ministry impact. Technical proficiency and comfort with administrative responsibilities are also essential, as is a willingness to fully engage in the broader life of the church community.
Qualifications:
- Meets biblical qualifications (1 Timothy 3:1-7)
- Clear calling to vocational ministry with emphasis on students and families
- Moral integrity, humility, and spiritual growth
- Seminary education preferred
- Proven leadership experience (2-4 years)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Planning Center Online, Slack, Social Media, (Family Minister) plus QuickBooks, and online financial platforms
- Ability to pass a background check and complete Ministry Safe Training
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead comprehensive Student Ministry, aligning with Cana’s mission and vision
- Develop engaging discipleship programs for students, families, and congregation members
- Mentor volunteer leaders and teachers, building a robust, supportive ministry team
- Plan and execute special church-wide discipleship events
- Collaborate closely with pastoral staff for strategic planning and community engagement
- (Family Minister) Manage limited relevant administrative tasks (finance, bill pay, supervision of administrative support)
- Regularly update Pastor on ministry progress, needs, and successes
- Participate actively in church life, including regular and special events
- (Family Minister) Lead and develop and integrate educational ministry of the church from children through adults
- (Family Minister) Lead and oversee all aspects of Missional Community Groups for adults.
