Worship Leader Responsibilities and Requirements
IGNITE-First Baptist Church of Kennedale is looking for an enthusiastic, part-time worship pastor to help us minster to the people of our church, develop and implement a new vision for leading the church in engaging worship, and reach our growing community with the gospel.
We are a very loving, multigenerational church with an upbeat/contemporary feel. Our worship team currently consists of a bass guitar, electric guitar, keys and drums. The worship leader has typically led with an acoustic guitar. We also have a female vocalist who often accompanies the worship leader and leads as a soloist when needed.
Our vision is to discover and implement new strategies to reach our community for Christ.
I. Responsibilities
- Model authentic and passionate worship for Jesus.
- Direct the planning, coordination and supervision of the Worship Team.
- Lead the praise portion of the worship service on Sunday mornings.
- Work in coordination with the pastor in planning the worship experience.
- Coordinate the use of vocalists, instruments and soloists for the worship service.
- Coordinate an organized mid-week practice with the Worship Team.
- Oversee an annual budget for the Worship Ministry.
- Purchase, maintain and repair music and audio equipment as needed.
II. Requirements
- Must be a born-again believer through faith in Jesus Christ.
- Have a desire to do all things with excellence and to the glory of God.
- Have a proficiency in leading worship with a strong vocal ability.
- Be proficient at leading with an acoustic guitar.
- Stand in agreement with the church’s statement of faith and covenant.
We understand that worship leaders often utilize time at home to research and discover new songs and practice and make preparations for rehearsal and Sunday worship; therefore, we do not require church office hours.
