Minister to Kids

Position Summary   

Oversee all ministries for children from birth through 5th grade.  Lead the Children’s Ministry through developing leadership, coordinating programming, and implementing a family-focused partnership with parents to transform children into spiritual champions.

Time Commitment   

Full-time; Exempt

Education/Experience  

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• 4+ years of related experience

• Committed follower of Christ
• Passion for children and their parents
• Servant leader
• Able to follow through and complete tasks
• Able to motivate and inspire team and adult leaders
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to administrate, delegate and prioritize responsibilities, 
• Executes appropriate judgment and confidentiality

Responsibilities and Duties  

• Administration
• Provide a safe and caring environment where kids can learn about Christ and build lasting friendships
• Plan for the following weekly events:
• Preschool Worship & Connect Groups
• Children’s Worship & Connect Groups

• Oversee and assist with programs, including, but not limited to:
• AWANA
• Vacation Bible School
• Kids Camps
• Fall Festival
• Plan annual budgets for children’s ministry

• Equipping
• Pour the love of Christ into children’s leaders and parents and build relationships
• Partner with parents and work with them for the betterment of our children
• Make tools available to parents to assist them in reaching and teaching their children 
• Provide training for Connect Group leaders
• Supervise all Children’s Ministry employees

• Pastoral
• Prepare relevant, age-appropriate messages for the children that will lead them to Christ and allow them to grow in their faith
• Reach out to first time guests through calls and letters
• Make hospital visits and on call
• Attend school performances, lunches and special events.

• Any other duties as assigned

Direct Reports:  Preschool Associate, Next Gen Ministry Assistant, Adult volunteers
