Meet First Baptist Church:
First Baptist Church (FBC) was organized in 1885 and incorporated under the laws of the State of Texas on August 11, 1988. New facilities including sanctuary, family life center and education area were built in 2006. FBC Christian School has 120 children and operates independently as a ministry of the church. FBC has been led by several pastors and has experienced a slow decline in membership, with an average corporate worship attendance of 200 and Sunday School attendance of 160. FBC is a loving church, with the dominant core values being missions, evangelism, and giving. We are looking for a pastor with vision, to lead us into the future.
About the Lead Pastor:
The Lead Pastor serves as the primary spiritual and administrative leader of the church, overseeing the church staff and the ministries of the church. He equips the church to reach and minister to its community for Christ. He shepherds the church through preaching and teaching the Word of God and providing pastoral care to its members. He communicates the vision of the church to its members and leads the church to fulfill its mission in the world as led by the Holy Spirit.
What you Bring- Education & Experience:
The Lead Pastor must meet the spiritual, personal, and character qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9 and exhibit the Fruit of the Spirit as found in Galatians 5:22-23.
The ideal candidate will have a Master of Divinity or comparable graduate degree from an accredited seminary. In the absence of a graduate seminary degree, a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies, Biblical Studies, etc from an accredited Christian university is expected. A seminary degree and five years or more of experience as a pastor is desired.
