Job Title: Division/Department: Youth Ministry

Office Hours (max):
Monday-Thursday - 9:00a-4:00p (lunch 12:00p-1:00p) Wednesday Evenings - 5:30p-8:00p
Sunday mornings - 8:30a-12:00p
Job Summary: This intern will support the church's vision by serving as a youth ministry intern, focused on assisting and receiving training from the youth pastor. This includes mirroring assigned pastors, completing assigned tasks, completing assigned reading projects and book reviews, and as- sisting the Youth Pastor on and in preparation for Sunday mornings and Wednesday Evenings. Crossroads is driven by a commitment to make disciples of all ages through Worship, LifeGroups, Ministry, and Missions with a commitment to a strong Family Ministry focus, and all staff must actively exhibit and promote such engagement.
Essential Job Functions:
• Work with assigned pastors to complete tasks and practice principles taught.
• Attend weekly intern meetings as well as staff meetings when presence is requested.
• Upholding all policies and procedures for the church and especially the Youth Ministry.
Job Requirements and Personal Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Propensities: Must exhibit active interest and involvement in church ministry and be pursuing a career in it.
Job Skills: Teachability, with basic levels of the following: Organizational/administrative skills, event planning skills, technical/ AV Media skills, Interpersonal/ relational skills, communication skills, vision casting skills, creativity applies to event planning and themed environments; leadership and teaching skills; works well with youth.
Personal Qualifications: Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ with consistent evidence of fruit in personal life; Motivated to serve God in a ministry; Ability to consistently use good judgment and wisdom in dealing with job demands. Must have a great attitude and actively cultivate good relationships with staff and church members.
 
Other Information:
Interns may be asked to supervise aspects of ministries associated with their ministry.
In addition to adhering to the Staff Handbook, this and other staff and faculty positions are ex-
pected to be able to regularly:

  • Demonstrate an aptitude to grow in your area of expertise, receive training, and respond positively to correction and constructive criticism from supervisory staff and elders
  • Show the ability to follow through with completing assigned tasks and ensure effective resolutions to challenges.
  • Prove ability to interact in a consistently positive manner with external clientele, including applicants, volunteers, vendors, visitors, and guests, using a high degree of tact, diplomacy, discretion, flexibility, respect and
  • courtesy in gesture and speech
  • Demonstrate ability to make decisions based on the vision and values of Crossroads Church.
  • Show and build experience in conflict resolution based on biblical principles
  • Demonstrate computer skills, including proficiency in databases and Windows and Mac-based software.
  • Adapt to changes in the work environment; show the ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected
  • events with poise and professionalism
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; quickly respond to requests for service and work well in
  • group problem-solving situations; must be a strong team player who meets commitments
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment while maintaining productivity and work quality
  • Self-motivated and flexible with strong organizational skills and the ability to work well with timelines and
  • short deadlines.
For stellar interns, resident status and/or full-time employment may be offered at or before the completion of your year of service. Many of our interns are now serving full-time here, at another church or parachurch organization, or are now assured of their callings in other capacities outside of church employment.
 
Church scholarships to assist in ministry education are available to some interns on a first-come, first-serve, and dispersed annually.
 
Free or reduced-price housing may be available to some interns on a first-come, first-serve basis.
