Associate Pastor of Youth/Children: 

First Baptist Church, De Leon, Texas, is accepting applications to fill the full-time position of Associate Pastor of Youth & Children.  FBC De Leon desires a man of God who seeks to glorify Christ in all he does.  Someone that serves God first, then his family, and then the church.  We prefer someone with a servant’s heart that can “rightly handle the Word” (2 Tim. 2:15).  Must meet the qualification of a Pastor set out in 1 Tim. 3:1-7 & Titus 1:5-9.

 

The Following Represent a Basic Job Description

Students/Children

  • Prepare and administer the Student & Children Ministry Programs.
  • Plan and conduct opportunities for the youth and children of our church to grow in the knowledge of Jesus, such as: camps, retreats, discipleship opportunities, etc.
  • Promote training opportunities for adult leadership/volunteers such as planning meetings, training courses, clinics, workshops, and denominational training activities.
  • Encourage and assist parents and youth/children to grow in their faith, to model Christ in their lives, and to speak the Gospel to others.
  • Visit schools and extracurricular activities as school policies and schedule allow.

Administration

  • Be directly responsible to the Sr. Pastor in all matters.
  • Prepare, submit, and manage budgets, weekly and yearly ministry plans for the Student & Children Ministries and other areas as assigned by the Pastor.
  • Lead in the recruitment of needed volunteer workers.
  • Assist in preparation for and participate in all church-wide events.

Minister

  • Perform services ascribed to ordained Ministers.
  • Aid in worship services.
  • Fill pulpit as needed when Sr. Pastor is out.
  • Counsel.
  • Be available and approachable.
  • Conduct yourself as a ministering servant.

 

Benefits: Salary (DOE/Q) plus a 3 Bedroom/2 Bath Parsonage
