Position: Student Ministry Girls Intern                  

Classification: Non-Exempt, Regular Part Time, Intern           

Primary Reporting Relationship: Worship Minister

Secondary Reporting Relationship: Student Minister

 

Position Summary

The Student Ministry Girls Intern is responsible to assist in planning and development in the student ministry, helping to foster an inviting atmosphere for students in which to build relationships, and contribute to discipleship, development, and shepherding of young girls and ministry volunteers in the student ministry at First Mansfield (FM).

  • An undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a future in Church ministry
  • Leadership aptitude and experience
  • Technological aptitude and skills (programs like Google Suite, Microsoft Office/Teams, etc.)
  • Flexible, adaptable, and teachable

Development

  • Meet bi-weekly with the Worship Minister to work through required reading (4 books) and internship curriculum alongside other FM interns
  • Meet weekly with Student Minister for leadership development and mentorship.

Job Responsibilities

Part-Time Hours: estimated 10-20 hours per week, August 2024-May 2025

  • Assist in planning, preparation, communication, and execution of student ministry programming and events
  • Oversee discipleship, development, and care of female students and volunteers under supervision of the Student Minister
  • Contribute positively to shepherding, care, culture, and development of students and volunteers
  • Assist in leading student ministry midweek programming, Sunday evening student leadership training, and special events.
  • Become a meaningful member of FM and demonstrate active involvement in the life of FM, especially young adult ministry
  • Participate in regular programming and special events at FM
  • Attend scheduled student ministry leader meetings and quarterly all-staff meetings
